Book Giveaway: Moon Up, Past Full

Since July 2010, TNBBC has been bringing authors and readers together every month to get behind the book! This unique experience wouldn't be possible without the generous donations of the authors and publishers involved.

It's the first of the month and you know what that means.
It's time to bring you January's Author/Reader discussion book!

We will be reading and discussing Moon Up, Past Full
with Eric Shonkwiler.

The publisher has graciously given us 15 copies to give away!

5 Print copies for US residents
10 Digital packages which contain a PDF, Mobi, and EPub format of the book  (open internationally)

What it's about:

As Faulkner’s voice portrayed the South and Breece D’J Pancake’s represented Appalachia, Eric Shonkwiler captures the Midwest, with this collection of novellas and short stories that peels back the edges of rural existence to expose the heart of it. Through parental neglect, rebellious sons and daughters, drug-addled war veterans, backwoods zombies, injured firemen, car thieves, witch doctors, and Navajo ghosts, Shonkwiler brings you a disregarded world you can no longer ignore—one thriving with the mundane, the bruised, the unheard. Here is the voice of the rest of us, spoken only the way firsthand experience, rooted deep in overworked soil, can say it.

This giveaway will run through December 9th.
Winners will be announced here and via email on December 10th.

Here's how to enter:

1 - Leave a comment here or in the giveaway thread over at TNBBC on goodreads. You must let me know if you are in the US or if you live internationally, (If you are US, please state whether print or digital is your first choice).

2 - State that you agree to participate in the group read book discussion that will run from January 18th through the 24th. Eric has agreed to participate in the discussion and will be available to answer any questions you may have for him.

3 - Your comment must have a way to contact you (email is preferred).

ONLY COMMENT ONCE. MULTIPLE COMMENTS DO NOT GAIN YOU ADDITIONAL CHANCES TO WIN.

*If you are chosen as a winner, by accepting the copy you are agreeing to read the book and join the group discussion at TNBBC on Goodreads (the thread for the discussion will be emailed to you before the discussion begins).

  1. This collection sounds amazing! I'm excited for a chance to participate in a discussion with the author. I'm in the US and either format works for me (I read on a kindle, but don't mind a print copy). abookaweekblog@yahoo.com

  2. Hey! Great offer, I'm totally in!!! I live in Iowa (USA), but I know Eric will have put a different spin on the characters I'm so familiar with I forget the differences until I travel - can't wait to see how he shows what he knows! And pick his brain! Just don't ask to see me show how to pick his nose!
Heh. Yes, anyways, I officially agree to participate in the group read book discussion, and if I win I would love a print copy, and my email is hurricanelizard@gmail.com.
    Thank you!!

  3. I currently live in the Midwest here in the United States. This sounds like a book that I would enjoy. I grew up in the midwest and look forward to reading and getting his perspective. I would be thrilled with either format as I have a kindle but also love the weight of a book on my fingertips. My email is xfactor6@me.com

  4. The book sounds intriguing. I can't wait to read, regardless if I win a copy or not. But, who doesn't like a gift. LOL. It would be an amazing opportunity to discuss a book with the actual author. My e-mail is p.payant@aol.com. I live in the US. I am old school, and love to turn a page...so....a print copy would be my first choice. I tend to collect books I want to read more than once. Get me a cot, pillow and blanket...I could live at the library. LOL

  5. I'd love to participate. I got to meet Eric at a reading here in WV at the end of a writing residency he did while staying in a friend's vacation rental. Cool guy. Really liked "Above All Men."

  7. Ok, winners have been chosen! Since we had less than 15 entries, we're able to supply each of you with a copy of the book for the discussion next month.

However, there aren't enough print to satisfy those who requested it as their preference so I had to draw names for those. Those who don't get print will be given the digital package in its place.

Check your inboxes here - email notification going out shortly : )

And congrats to all!!!! Thanks so much for your interest in reading and discussing this title!
