Book Giveaway: Skinny

TNBBC has a great new novel up for grabs!

will be featured in August for our Author/Reader Discussion.

In order to stimulate discussion,
we are very excited to be able to offer 10 copies internationally!

Here is the book description as it appears on Goodreads:
After her father’s death, twenty-six-year-old Gray Lachmann finds herself compulsively eating. Desperate to stop bingeing, she abandons her life in New York City for a job at a southern weight-loss camp. There, caught among the warring egos of her devious co-counselor, Sheena; the self-aggrandizing camp director, Lewis; his attractive assistant, Bennett; and a throng of combative teenage campers, she is confronted by a captivating mystery: her teenage half-sister, Eden, whom Gray never knew existed. Now, while unraveling her father’s lies, Gray must tackle her own self-deceptions and take control of her body and her life.

Visceral, poignant, and often wickedly funny, Skinny illuminates a young woman’s struggle to make sense of the link between hunger and emotion, and to make peace with her demons, her body, and herself.

The contest will run through July 7th.

Here's how to enter:

1 - Simply comment here stating which copy of the book you would like to receive. If you have a funny or strange dieting or workout story, I encourage you to share it!

*If your comment is missing any of this information, it will be considered ineligible.

Good luck!

I workout at a place that has a 30 min. circuit. There is this one machine in the circuit that the men like to come in and use even though they are not supposed to use it unless they are doing the circuit. So...I always end up making them get off of the machine because it's next for me in the rotation. My motto is I'm a teacher and I tattle.

  5. This book sounds interesting and would give me a new perspective on things. Fortunately, I have never struggled with weight before and I think this book will allow me to see the psychological, as well as the physical challenges this entails. I’m a US resident and would love a paperback copy. I look forward to the discussion :) My e-mail is rs_athlete1@hotmail.com.

  8. Have struggled with my weight my whole life - I'm somewhere in-between. Not skinny by any means, but not obese either. And I hate diets. My MIL is always dieting and it kinda freaks me out how many diet books and diet plans and diet programs she has been on. I did weight watchers once. Now I just am what I am. So this book really interests me.

I really really prefer to read paper books. But am located internationally. If possible, yes please a paperback book. If not, I would be willing to read a copy digitally...

    Thanks!

  9. I am old enough to look back and remember when I could pretty much just 'wish' weight away, back when I was in my 20's. but even then, at a small size and barely 3 digiit in weight. I still would wrap myself in a towel when in a swim suit to cover my fat. Where was my frame of reference??

Paperback would be great. I'm in the US.

I would really look forward to the discussions and hope, even if I don't win a copy, there will be a way to read along on what the winners have to say about it in group read.

  13. Sounds like an awesome read, and I know by heart the whole dieting craze. In college several years ago I picked the dorm furthest away from the cafeteria on top of a tall hill so I wouldn't be there all the time eating. Lost 20 pounds that year, then gained it all back in a month when I went home for summer.

I'm in the US and would love to participate in a discussion! I can take either paper or ebook! Thanks! grandoise.illusion at gmail dot com

  15. I would love a paperback copy if available.

When I started up my exercise route again after the birth of my last child, I really overdid it and almost passed out. How's that for staying healthy? LOL!

Thanks for the chance to win.

  17. If an ebook is available I'd like to win that. Otherwise I'm not too particular.
My diet drama: when phen-fen was on the market I took that. I list sonmuch weight so fast! Sadly I didn't truly watch my diet or exercise and the weight crept back up.
