World Edition's Forthcoming "Read The World A to Z" series

I am thrilled to share that I've joined the World Editions launch team, helping to celebrate this timely and much needed translation series.

Launching in Fall 2026, Read the World A to Z allows readers to travel the globe with the most influential voices from Argentina to Zambia! With three new volumes published each season, this collectible series features translated novels from A to Z—one country for every letter of the alphabet.

By publishing books from countries rarely represented in the canon of translated literature, World Editions is looking to further cultural exchange, broaden perspectives and promote diversity by increasing the visibility of non-Western voices.

All titles published as part of the series are written by contemporary, influential authors and reflect the social and cultural dimensions of their country of origin. The emphasis is on works that portray modern society, give insight into current culture and shape public discourse. The series features predominantly – but not exclusively - female voices that are both unique and typical for the country. The majority of authors have never been published in English before.

The first three volumes of the Read the World A to Z series, publishing on 10/6/26, will take you to Argentina, Belgium and China

All That Dies in April
,
which I read and reviewed in the summer of last year, is an ancestral tale rooted in a long Latin American history of rural displacement by Mariana Travacio, one of Argentina’s most celebrated authors.

Written by the bestselling author Kristien Hemmerechts,The Woman Who Fed the Dogs offers a deep-dive into the mind of Belgium's most hated woman, the wife of serial killer Marc Dutroux.

And the third volume of the Read the World A to Z series takes you to China with Zhang Yueran’s Cocoon, called a “luminous gateway into current Chinese fiction” by the Wall Street Journal

Make sure to hang around! More information and posts will be coming out in the lead up to this very critical and expansive series.
