Book Giveaway: Threats and My Only Wife

Since July 2010, TNBBC has been bringing authors and readers together every month to get behind the book! This unique experience wouldn't be possible without the generous donations of the authors and publishers involved.

I am beyond thrilled to be able to bring you next month's Author/Reader Discussion!

This one is a dual discussion featuring
and will be taking place in TNBBC in August!!

In order to stimulate discussion,
Amelia and Jac's publishing companies have agreed to give away
10 copies EACH - to US residents only.
(sorry, international folks!)

This is a one-of-a-kind event! TNBBC has never hosted a dual discussion before!
You don't want to miss out on this one... Trust me.

Here are the Goodreads descriptions of the books:

David’s wife is dead. At least, he thinks she’s dead. But he can’t figure out what killed her or why she had to die, and his efforts to sort out what’s happened have been interrupted by his discovery of a series of elaborate and escalating threats hidden in strange places around his home. These disturbing threats may be the best clues to his wife’s death. With no one to trust, David is forced to rely on his own memories and faculties—but they too are proving unreliable.

Ten years ago the narrator unlocked the door of a wrecked apartment, empty of any trace of his wife. As stunning as her disappearance is his response. He freezes on the facts of her, haunting his recollections. This is the story of a man unable to free himself enough from the idea of a woman to try to find her.

This giveaway will run through July 8th.
Winners will receive one copy of each book and will be notified here and via email on June 9th.

Here's how to enter:

1 - Leave a comment stating why you would like to win the copies.

2 - State that you agree to participate in the group read book discussion that will run from August 15th through the end of the month. Amelia Gray and Jac Jemc have agreed to participate in the discussion and will be available to answer any questions you may have for them.

*If you are chosen as a winner, by accepting the copy you are agreeing to read the book and join the group discussion at TNBBC on Goodreads (the thread for the discussion will be emailed to you before the discussion begins).

3 - Your comment must have a way to contact you (email is preferred). AND you must be a resident of the US!!!!

Good luck!

  1. I'd like to win these books because I start college in the fall, and I won't have much time to do any reading for pleasure once college begins. I agree to participate in the group discussion. My email address is dogboijoe .at. gmail .dot. com

  4. I discovered THREATS via a post at Flavorwire that listed the 10 Best Books of the Year (so far). I haven't heard of MY ONLY WIFE, but the premise looks great. I will definitely participate in the group discussion and I'll probably write about both books on my own site. I can be contacted at 4everoverhead at gmail.com

Thanks!! This looks like a lot of fun!

  5. I am very interested in reading Threats and My Only Wife after hearing about them on Flavorwire's 10 Best Books of the Year. As an English teacher and a Doctoral Student in Language and Literacy Education, I couldn't think of a better way to stimulate reading among my fellow teacher friends and colleagues and then be able to pass them on to my students.

  6. As an avid reader, I am always looking for new book recommendations. These both sound fascinating! Also, I've always wanted to join a book club but never have before for various reasons that all seem silly now...this would be a great way for me to get involved in a group discussion & get my "book club" feet finally wet! I will participate & my email is beegrl77 at gmail dot com. Thanks!!

  10. Hi Lori,

Both of these books look good and similar to each other. I would love to read them both and compare how different or similar they really are. It would also be neat to hear from the authors about how and why they wrote the books.

  11. I'm reading Amelia Grey right now, already thinking about something to say about her book. And I listened to Jac Jemc read any excerpt from her book on WordPlaySound. I want to read both these books. I think I read somewhere how they have some interesting things in common.

Fastest route to me these days is TinyTOEPress@gmail.com.

    Thanks Lori.
