Welcome to TNBBC's 4th book giveaway!!!
This giveaway was made possible by Tavia at Harper Collins. She has allowed me the opportunity to give away 10 copies of Brunonia Barry's "The Map of True Places" for a mini group read. Brunonia is The New York Times bestselling author of the Lace Reader.
The rules are really quite simple:
- Be the first 10 commenters here and tell me why you would like a copy of Brunonia Barry's new book. Please be sure to leave your email address so I can contact you for your mailing address. The books will be shipped from Harper Collins. The books will only be shipped to US and Canada residents (sorry guys, not my decision!)
- The winners of The Map of True Places must agree to participate in a mini-group read held over at TNBBC on goodreads and discuss the novel there in a folder designated for the book - like we do for our monthly group reads.
This contest will remain open until I have received the tenth comment on my blog. So it could be over very quickly. Get going everyone!! And a very HUGE thank you to Tavia and the staff at Harper Collins for being so wonderfully, fanstically generous!!
oooo, great giveaway Lori :) the cover is gorgeous, and I've actually heard of this one and have been curious about it! I think that the journey Zee takes in the book sounds very fascinating. Plus, I loved The Lace Reader. I love TNBBC book discussions, I'm excited already!

This is great Lori! I am really drawn to both the cover image and the title of this book. Looking into the description, it sounds like it can be a very captivating snap shot of the path this woman's life takes her on. I love reading books that make life seem, or feel like a journey.

Hi Lori. Thank you for this great opportunity. Barry is a compelling (must find another, less-used word) writer and her new books touches on so many important themes. I have a personal connection to one: the father with Parkinson's. I am currently working through this with my own 70 years-young father. It is heartbreaking and amazing at the same time...if that makes sense? I would love to participate in a group read discussing this novel. I am sure, at one point or another, we all could use a map to help us re-focus ourselves on a true course. I will PM you my email address. Kind regards, Jennifer
ReplyDeleteYay! Another giveaway and no embarrassing stories to share! The cover looks lovely (I know I shouldn't but I always am hooked first by a good cover) and the idea of navigating a new course in one's life is a compelling idea and one that is near and dear to my heart as it's something I have found myself in the position of having to do.

Sounds like an interesting book that I'd like to read and I am always up for reading a new book before everyone else! My email is julesb1024 at yahoo dot com
ReplyDeleteI would like to read this because the reviews on Goodreads make it sound like a very interesting book. Also, I'm curious about how she cares for a father with Parkinson's since my mother has Alzheimer's.

I loved her first book, so I'm keen to read this one too! My email is shereadsandreads(at)gmail(dot)com.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for requesting copies of The Map of True Places. I have only 10 copies to give, and they must be issued to residents of the US or Canada.
ReplyDeleteFirst ten entries will be contacted. Once I have contacted them through email and confirmed their shipping address, I will announce the winners.
Lori -- If you have not received 10 US entries, please add me to the list! Thank you for the opportunity to win this book that I have been seeing everywhere recently:)
ReplyDeleteI would like to read this book because I am intrigued by the idea of Zee having to "re-figure out" her relationship with her father. I know the feeling of having a loved one that you don't really "know" and I have been trying to get my hands on books related to Parkinson's since reading Michael J. Fox's book, Lucky Man, recently
I have not read anything by Ms. Barry, although I have heard wonderful things about the Lace Reader.
My email is booklover@myself.com. I hope I get the chance to get my hands on this one. Thanks again, Lori, for a fabulous contest!!
I would like to read this book, since I liked THE LACE READER (wasn't crazy about it, but...) and am curious to see if Ms Barry beat the dreaded Sophmore Jinx for her second novel.
